RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CCI OUNL
OF THE CITY OF MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION TO THE SB 1
STATE OF GOOD REPAIR (SGR) GRANT PROGRAM
THE CITY COUNCIL
City of Morro Bay, California
WHEREAS, the SGR program is the result of the passage of SB 1 and provides
approximately $105 million annually to transit operators in California for eligible transit
maintenance, rehabilitation and capital projects; and
WHEREAS, the SGR program benefits the public by providing public transportation
agencies with a consistent and dependable revenue source to invest in the upgrade, repair and
improvement of their agency's transportation infrastructure, and in turn improve transportation
services; and
WHEREAS, each regional agency and transit operator is entitled to a portion of SGR
funds identified by a statewide formula; and
WHEREAS, the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) annually receives
SGR funds for allocation to eligible transit operators in San Luis Obispo County; and
WHEREAS, there is $378,625 available for competitive distribution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Morro Bay does hereby
authorize the City Manager, or his duly appointed representative, to submit an application to the
SLOCOG for FY19/20 SGR program funds in the amount of $378,625 for bus stop
improvements at the City Park transit hub.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Morro Bay at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 26th day of February 2019 on the following vote:
