HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 01-17 Amending Council Policies and Procedures re Advisory Board Member QualificationsRESOLUTION NO. 01-17 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE COUNCIL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL REGARDING ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MORRO BAY, CAILFORNIA WHEREAS, the Council Policies and Procedures Manual for the City of Morro Bay is a combination of City Council actions, policies, references, and information regarding the City Council; and WHEREAS, to ensure all Councilmembers are familiar with and understand the City of Morro Bay's philosophies and policies regarding serving on the City Council, the City Council adopted its Council Policies and Procedures Manual, which have been amended on various occasions; and WHEREAS, the City again desires to amend certain Sections of the Council Policies and Procedures Manual related to Advisory Board Member Qualifications to allow for exceptions to the age requirement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Morro Bay does hereby amend subdivisions 6.6.1.2.1 and 6.6.1.2.2 of the Council Policies and Procedures Manual to read, as follows: 6.6.1.2.1 The applicant must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment; provided, that the Council may appoint one area high school student to an advisory boards, if allowed by the Advisory Board By -Laws and they meet the other qualification requirements 6.6.1.2.2 Elected Officials, Officers and Employees of the City of Morro Bay shall not be considered for appointment, unless otherwise approved unanimously by the City Council PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council, City of Morro Bay at a regular meeting thereof held on the 10th day of January 2017 by the following vote: AYES: Irons, Davis, Headding, Makowetski, McPherson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None TEST: DANA SWANSON, City Clerk
