Mayor Shelton announced that this Special Meeting had been called to consider approval
o f Final Tract Map 951, Sea Harbor Villas.
Mr. Anderson informed Council that although approval of the final tract map had been
sought originally, new information had come forth that additional signatures were needed
for recordation. These signatures had not been secured., and staff was now recommending
that a time extension be granted. Mr. Anderson noted that although time extensions
u sually were processed through the Planning Commission prior to Council approval, this
case was of such an urgent nature that staff felt the Planning Commission could be by-
passed in this instance.
Mr. Napper informed Council that the City Attorney had been contacted regarding this
action, and was in agreement with staff
Mr. Anderson told Council that the full one year time extension would not be needed,
and that they would only request a 6-month extension, although it was likely that
less than that would be needed.
Councilmember Risley asked Mr. Crump if there would be any problems foreseen with
the granting of this extension without Planning Commission approval.
Mr Crump stated that if the extension were for a Period of six months or less, he did
n ot foresee any problems.
MOTION: Councilmember Risley moved that the Council approve a 6-month time
e xtension for Tract No. 951 and that the Resolution approving this
e xtension be adopted, and that the Council make the following findings
o f fact: That the City Council finds that the urgency of this action
is justified by the unavailability of the necessary two signatures for
the recordation of the tract map and that this constitute grounds for
this extension. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Anderson and
carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES. Risley, Anderson, Shelton
