DR. JOHN HEADDING Age: 69
Occupation: Mayor/Pharmacist
Education and Qualifications:
Morro Bay is a city in transition. We must preserve the unique small harbor character of our city while concurrently embracing
change to improve our economy. As your Mayor, I have worked hard to improve the quality of life for our residents.
I will continue to advocate for the preservation of local police and fire services, sound fiscal policies, expansion of our economy,
transparency in government, preservation of our natural beauty, protection of our bay and harbor, and the growth of our tourism
and fishing industries.
I will continue to eliminate wasteful spending, deal with looming pension liabilities, and implement our economic improvement plan.
We must challenge the status quo, focusing on future sustaining strategies, including strengthening of local businesses and
implementation of our strategic plan, while continuing to pursue a results-oriented community vision.
My education includes a Doctor of Pharmacy and master's in healthcare administration. My career history includes CEO/COO of
hospitals, former local business owner, involvement in many county-wide boards and current Mayor. I will bring strong leadership
skills, transparency, integrity, collaboration and big business experience in leading our city.
