RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING AWARD OF FY 2023-24 COMMUNITY GRANTS
THE CITY COUNCIL
City of Morro Bay, California
WHEREAS, grants and Council bequests are a mechanism by which the City Council
and City of Morro Bay can assist non-profit and other government agencies in providing direct or
indirect services to the Morro Bay residents and communities; and
WHEREAS, the Morro Bay City Council annually allocates grant funds to various
community groups and organizations; and
WHEREAS, in the current FY 2023-24 budget year, Council adopted the City's budget in
June, and included up to $60,000 total for community grant awards, comprised of $35,000 of
General Funds and $25,000 in federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA); and
WHEREAS, the City solicited grant applications from local nonprofits and asked a
Community Grants Review Committee to review those applications consistent with the
Community Grants Policy guidelines and the Committee provided recommendations to Council
to make funding awards that are anticipated to have a positive impact on the community of
Morro Bay.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Morro Bay,
California, as follows:

2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute agreements with all grantees,
reviewing and adjusting insurance requirements on a case -by -case basis in
coordination with California JPIA and the City Attorney's Office depending on the
level of risk associated.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Morro Bay at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 241 day of October 2023 on the following vote:
