ESTABLISH QUORUM AND CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Irons established a quorum and called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m., with all members
present.
SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA ITEMS:
I. ADVISORY BOARD INTERVIEWS

• Public Works Advisory Board (PWAB) interviews to fill one (1) unscheduled vacancy
for a term ending January 31, 2017
• Citizens Oversight Committee /Citizens Finance Committee interviews to fill (2) seats
made available by adoption of Ordinance 602 and Resolution No. 18-16 which
expanded this from a 5- to 7-member Committee. One new member to be appointed
for a 3-year term ending January 31, 2019 and one new member to be appointed 6-year
term ending January 31, 2022.
The Council interviewed Ric Deschler for the Public Works Advisory Board (PWAB) and Bart
Beckman for the Citizens Oversight Committee /Citizens Finance Committee.
PUBLIC COMMENT RE: ITEMS ON THE AGENDA
The public comment period was opened.
Robert Davis, Morro Bay, spoke in support of Ric Deschler for the Public Works Advisory Board.
The public comment period was closed.
MOTION: Mayor Irons moved to appoint Mr. Deschler to fill the unscheduled vacancy on the
PWAB for a term ending January 31, 2017. The motion as seconded by
Councilmember Smukler. A roll -call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously, 54
MOTION: Councilmember Smukler moved to appoint Mr. Beckman to a 6-year term on the
Citizens Oversight Committee / Citizens Finance Committee. The motion as
seconded by Councilmember Johnson. A roll -call vote was taken and the motion
passed unanimously, 5-0.

The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
